My creative practice is primarily based in experimental film, and also spans installation, sound, performance, and documentary. My films expand beyond the screen to play with perspective, provoke thought, and engage with communities through participatory engagement. I utilize my body in a performative and relational context, and seek through my work to transmit a basic experience of texture, rhythm, and vibration. I see video making as a kind of alchemical process; transforming trash into treasure, and making new rhythms out of scraps.

I have also worked in the capacity of producer, director, cinematographer, editor and sound designer on over thirty films in collaboration with production companies, television stations, non profit organizations, and commissioned art projects. I have collaborated on projects with choreographers, painters, musicians, and performance artists, and value an interdisciplinary approach to art making. My work has been seen both domestically and internationally at venues including the Brooklyn Museum’s Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, the Rubin Museum of Art, dOCUMENTA 13, SculptureCenter, and nGbK. I hold a BA from Antioch College and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and I have taught film theory and practice in India, Nepal, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States.
